Finally… we are opening our new practice. It has been four long years of planning & preparation & I’m sure I have thought of everything.
I am so excited to be a part of the southwest Edmonton community, this is where I live and am raising my family. Something about this part of town feels special, and I strive to provide a special experience to my patients. I am combining thousands of hours of education and some of the most amazing technology and staff under one roof to offer what I believe to be an unmatched patient experience. I’m honoured and privileged to have this opportunity to serve my neighbours.
2015 will mark my ninth year practicing dentistry and from humble beginnings feel that I am truly finding my stride. My current philosophy is shaped by my experiences in private practice thus far. When I graduated from the U of A dental program in 2006 I was asked to remain at the school as a clinical instructor. It has been said that the highest form of learning is to teach, and in my experience this is irrefutable. When I first began teaching I was surprised to be challenged again and again. The students are sharp, and they force the understanding of fundamentals to refinement and depth.
I was lucky to find an associateship at Meadowlark Dental Centre where under the guidance of two experienced mentors Dr. Ken Luft and Dr. Ed McIntyre I was encouraged to explore my interest in surgery and dental implants. I formed a relationship with Nobel Biocare, the world’s largest dental implant company, and, quite to my surprise and without intention have become one of their top partners.
Despite the success of my implant practice, general dentistry remains my focus. The most rewarding aspect of my profession is the relationships built with families, which as my career progresses, I hope to see grow many generations deep. I endeavour to treat every new patient for a lifetime. With this in mind, my treatment recommendations for each person is tailored for a good outcome for later in life, not just today.
I once attended a motivational seminar where the speaker said: “If you serve people unselfishly to the very best of your ability every time you won’t be able to stop success. It will break down your door and engulf you.” I hope to prove him right.
So, with the support of my amazing family and the confidence of an incredible team we commence a new adventure.
Welcome to Southwest Smiles. I am privileged to serve you!
Dr. Misha Susoeff
I graduated from the University of Alberta in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. I gained much life experience by working for 10 years in the social work field with children and families. Recently, I was a stay at home mom for 6 years to take care of my 2 young children. Now I am back to work and excited to switch career gears and focus on the aesthetic goals of the practice. I enjoy abstract painting with acrylic paints and all things artistic and beautiful. I also love doing yoga while being on the grass in bare feet. I look forward to making this dental clinic the very best place to be to have all your dental needs taken care of in an exceptional, caring and positive way.
I have had a passion for dentistry since I was a child, influenced by both my beloved late grandfather and uncle who taught me the value of a beautiful smile. I became an RDA in 2013 from the NAIT program and I'm looking forward to achieve higher educational goals in the dental field. I really appreciate good dialogue, honesty, organization and teamwork. These are qualities that are essential in our work environment. I enjoy reading and good music. I also have a passion for traveling and meeting new people. Some of the great rewards of working with the Southwest team is the sense of competence and progress, the recognition and respect for professionals and patients from different parts of the world, the enhancement of relationship between patient-professional, and the enjoyable working atmosphere. I look forward to have you, the patient, as part of our team.
A smile is a universal language which connects us, and is the most beautiful expression an individual can have.
I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends. My husband and I are art lovers, we love painting landscapes & abstracts. I enjoy short retreats into the nature, reading, music, yoga & badminton occasionally. Recently, I have developed interest in gardening and love to see my plants thrive, despite my poor gardening skills!
I am a passionate Dental Hygienist that has always been fascinated by the power of a simple smile & the importance it holds. Thus, I know there couldn’t have been a better profession for me. I love helping people achieve a serene & beautiful smile. I intend to provide my patients with care addressing their individual needs. In addition, educating each patient is the most important step in achieving and maintaining good oral health. I am honored to be part of such an efficient, progressive & patient-oriented dental team at Southwest Smiles Dental clinic. I look forward to having you as our patient, who will become part of our growing dental family and achieve a brighter & beautiful smile!
